Back to school season installation and upgrade cost-effective equipment, Jiuhe S
Why Upgrade the RAM
The size of modern games is increasing, often exceeding 100 GB. The advantage of such games is their exquisite graphics, comparable to those in movies. The downside is the significant memory consumption, which often leads to my computer freezing or slowing down when I play these games. As someone with a short temper, I can't stand this, so upgrading the memory is urgent. Fortunately, the current price of DDR5 is affordable, offering large capacity and high frequency. Therefore, I have started the process of selecting a memory module in the past few days.
In the past, the memory module market was mainly dominated by a few foreign brands, with prices sometimes doubling or tripling. It was as thrilling as a roller coaster ride. Now, with the successful rise of domestic memory, I haven't heard of any memory module manufacturer causing a fire that leads to market shortages and price increases. Ultimately, I chose the Jiuhe Starfield DDR5 16G*2 6000 LED memory module. Let's start with an unboxing.

Appearance
The craftsmanship of the Starfield DDR5 6000 LED memory module is quite exquisite, featuring a thick white heatsink adorned with a multitude of stars, which looks very attractive.JUHOR·Stellar Realm, akin to the vast ocean, teems with countless stars. They sparkle like precious gems, adorning the night sky's curtain, narrating ancient and mysterious tales. It also encompasses the curiosity and aspiration for the unknown cosmos, evoking boundless reverie for the boundless starry sky. This is the brand culture that JUHOR imparts to the Stellar Realm series of memory modules, resonating emotionally with gamers.
It has to be said, the aesthetic appeal of this newly designed heatsink is definitely online, quite attractive. It suits white cases very well, and of course, my computer is a black and white color scheme, so the Stellar Realm DDR5 6000 RGB memory modules are also quite fitting.
Additionally, the Stellar Realm series comes in versions with and without RGB lighting. If it were up to me, I would definitely choose the version with RGB lighting. This is because my case, including the motherboard and graphics card, is filled with various ambient lights. Nowadays, it's almost embarrassing to call oneself an esports enthusiast without some RGB ambient lighting.
Installation
The installation process went smoothly. My motherboard has four slots, and for a four-slot motherboard, remember to insert the modules into the second and fourth slots; otherwise, there might be issues with booting up.After powering on, the device lights up at once, and the built-in RGB lighting effect is indeed quite attractive. It also supports the Aura Sync of major motherboards, and here it is recommended that those who like RGB lighting must buy one that comes with it.
The white sleeve of the Jiuhe Star Domain also matches my case quite well. My mainframe adopts a black and white color scheme, which is more fashionable than the monotony of pure white. The black motherboard with two white memory sticks with lighting looks very pleasing to the eye. In short, it looks good.
In the BIOS, it can be seen that the Jiuhe Star Domain DDR5 6000 is equipped with memory chips from Micron. It supports Intel XMP 3.0 and AMD EXPO. My platform is an Intel platform, so I can directly enable the 6000MHz working frequency with one click, and the timing is as low as CL38-44-44-96. Let's just enable it and enter the system to test the performance.
Entering the system is quite smooth, and I ran the score directly at the start. It can be seen that in AIAD64, the memory bandwidth performance is read: 93298 MB/S, write: 81987 MB/S, copy: 84303 MB/S. The latency is 74.9 ns. This performance is a double improvement compared to the DDR4 era, and this latency is also acceptable, not too high. Moreover, it passed the TM5 memory stability test in one go without any errors.
In fact, in terms of this performance, the actual test in the 3A game masterpiece "The Last of Us" can run quickly and smoothly. And switching to the desktop or other applications will not be as sluggish or crash as before. It is indeed evident that the benefits of having enough memory and fast speed are very obvious. If 3A masterpieces can run so smoothly, esports games are even less of a problem.Overclocking
There are various ways to overclock memory modules, and in addition to the one-click XMP feature, Gigabyte motherboards also offer an automatic overclocking option that provides high bandwidth and low latency. We locate these two switches and toggle them to enable. We then proceed to test its performance within the system.
It can be observed that after merely activating these two switches, the memory's performance has significantly improved once again. Its read speed has reached 98,226 MB/s, the write speed has come to 92,056 MB/s, and the copy speed has achieved 92,119 MB/s. Even the latency has been reduced to 70.2 nanoseconds. The overall bandwidth has essentially increased by about 5%, which is a substantial enhancement. The latency has also been lowered by 6%, showing a robust effect. Can we further optimize it?
After some exploration, by adjusting the small parameter timings and further reducing the timings to CL36-42-42-92, there is a slight change in the bandwidth performance, and the latency is also reduced to the 60s: 68.9 nanoseconds. Overall, the effect is still quite good.
Price
Currently, the price for a 16GB*2 kit of Jiuhe Star Domain DDR5 6000 RGB memory with RGB lighting is 579 yuan. The unit price is 18 yuan/GB. Don't forget, if you opt for the Jiuhe Star Domain without RGB lighting, the price is even more outrageous at 499 yuan. The unit price comes to 15.6 yuan/GB. It is already impossible to find a more cost-effective option online.
Even when compared to the DDR4 3600 16GB*2 specification, the price is already on par with that of the Jiuhe Star Domain RGB memory. With this, why would you still need DDR4? It's a clear decision to abandon DDR4 and embrace DDR5.
In summary, the Jiuhe Star Domain DDR5 6000 RGB memory not only has an attractive appearance that is easy to match but also exudes a strong esports vibe with its RGB lighting. In terms of performance, with a frequency as high as 6000MHz and a low latency of CL36, it offers both aesthetics and performance at an affordable price. If you are considering upgrading your memory modules or building a new machine for the start of school, this memory module is highly recommended.
